Vlasta Cernosek, age 93, passed away on March 16, 2009 at Monument Hill Nursing Center. She was born on September 9, 1915 to parents Rudolf and Lillian (Parma) Mican of Ammannsville.
She was a member of the Altar Society and the K.J.Z.T. Vlasta Cernosek was a homemaker and a retired nurse.
Vlasta Cernosek is survived by five sons, Frank L. Cernosek and his wife Wanda of San Antonio, Harvey Cernosek and his wife Carol of Tomball, John C. Cernosek of Houston, Richard Cernosek and his wife Sherry of Richmond and Chris Cernosek and his wife Jennifer of Kingsville; two daughters, Constance Cernosek of Houston and Mary Nordlof of New York; one brother, Rudy Mican along with seventeen grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rudolf and Lillian (Parma) Mican, her husband Frank J. Cernosek and one son-in-law.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, Texas. Msgr. Stanley Petru, Father Joseph Kariuki and Deacon John McCourt will officiate at the service.
Interment will be in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn, Texas.
Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or to a charity of one's choice.
