Russell Ray Popp, 49 years old, born on October 17, 1960, in El Campo, Texas, died on April 13, 2010, in Columbus, Texas.
Russell was a 1979 graduate of El Campo High School.
He was the son of the late Fred A. Popp of El Campo.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Sula and step-father Edward Sula of Fayetteville; his two daughters, Krystal Kana of Brenham and Brittany Caswell and her husband, Ryan of Virginia; one step-son, Eric Hall of Austin, also survives. He was the proud grandfather of Kaidence and Kali Kana of Brenham and Ryleigh Caswell of Virginia.
Survivors also include sisters; Marlene Wells and her husband Tony of Bay City, Sharon Bemis and her husband Richie of Houston, and Beverly Peacock and husband Gene of Conroe; brother, Randy Popp and his wife Teresa of Houston, and a step-sister, Kim Harrington of Austin.
He is also survived by the following nieces and nephews; Jennifer Warren, Brandon Wells, Sonny Howard, Alyson and Ethan Bemis, Dustin and Bradley Peacock, Chelsea, Dillon and Kyler Popp, Mary Harrington, and Kaytlin Meyer, plus one great-nephew, Asher Howard.
Russell worked in the oilfields, and he especially enjoyed camping, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his two beautiful grandchildren, Kaidence and Kali. Russell was raised in the Catholic faith. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday April 15, 2010, from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday April 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes.
