He made the drive from Fayetteville, TX for over 24 years.

In 2020, he began a new career at HEB in LaGrange, TX in the produce department. Russell quickly turned into a top food tray wrapper and guacamole producer for the store. He was a very talented person at his jobs, giving such detail to his work and never hesitated to help anyone who needed him.

Russell was also a farmer, with a passion for all animals and totally respected the land. He was great at planting, harvesting, and cooking the food he grew and firmly believed in not wasting anything. He loved hunting, fishing, and being around his family and friends. Russell was a go getter and never met a stranger. He was so full of life and passed it on to others. He enjoyed westerns and comedies on TV and was extremely knowledgeable about history. Russell loved being with his grandkids and nieces and nephews, and always encouraged them to get outside to play and enjoy the sun. Russell was best known for his selfless caregiving, especially to his family. He was loved by all and will be truly missed.
