Ruby Bohot

Ruby Myrtle Lehmann Bohot, (93) of Warda, passed away August 12, 2021 in Giddings, Texas. Ruby was born in Warda, Texas on March 14, 1928 to Carl and Hulda Lehmann. She married the love of her life, Alfred Bohot on June 18, 1950 and they had two sons, Charles Robert and Keith Alan Bohot and one daughter, Marsha Bohot Sheffield.

Ruby was very active in her community. She enjoyed going to church at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda where she created the Greeter Program and was involved in the Ladies Aid and the Altar Guild. She also participated in Quilting for World Relief, The Farm Bureau Ag in the Class Program and the Red Hat Society. Ruby enjoyed fishing, boating, and baking - in which she was known for her delicious, one-of-a-kind peanut brittle. Ruby loved spending time with her grandchildren and especially loved celebrating Christmas with her family. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by many.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 71 years, Alfred Bohot; two sons Charles Robert Bohot (Diane) and Keith Alan Bohot (Francine); one daughter, Marsha Bohot Sheffield; Sister-in-laws, Wilma Kaiser (JC) and Helen Kaiser; grandchildren, Meredith Misener (Chuck), Samantha Murley (Chris), April Rascoe (Jonathan), Noelle Beck (Bryan), Jaclyn Bauman (John), Robbie Bohot, Connor and Levi McClenny (Jacqueline); and eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lorene Lehmann (Arthur), Bernice Mahlmann (Bill), and Mildred Lorenz (Anton); son-in-law, Jack Sheffield; infant twin great granddaughters, Gracie and Ruby Rascoe; and sister-in-law, Gladys Giese (Leslie).

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 23, 2021 beginning at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Warda.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Holy Cross General Fund (Warda), Faith Lutheran High School (Warda) or to a charity of one’s choice.
