Perry Hugh Bernshausen, age 85 passed away on June 9, 2014 in La Grange.
Perry was born on October 24, 1928 at Latium in Washington County to Louis Bernshausen and Melanie Heins Bernshausen. He was a retired carpenter and farmer/rancher. Perry was a member of the Farm Bureau, AARP, Buckner’s Creek Trail Riders, St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange and Beefmaster Breeders Universal. He is remembered as a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather with an infectious smile that touched many.
He married Aldine Weishuhn on July 25, 1954 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange.
Perry is survived by his wife Aldine; one son Larry Bernshausen and wife Margaret; sister-in-law, Joyce Morgan; brother-in-law, Delvin Zingelmann; three grandchildren, Dusty Bernshausen and wife Jennifer, Laura Robertson and husband Chad , Jessica Bernshausen and boyfriend Kirt Weyand; five great-grandchildren, Charlee and Kash Wessels, Crew Bernshausen, Cash and Lylah Robertson; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lenora and William Siegmund, Leola and Quintus Lehmann, Ora Nell and Junior Sacks; sister-in-law, Barbara Zingelmann; brother-in-law, Marvin Morgan; three nephews, Donald Siegmund, Don Morgan and Quintus Walther; one niece, Donna Apgar and infant great-grandson, Coy Wayne Bernshausen.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday June 12, 2014 from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:30 PM until 6:30 PM. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday June 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange.
Interment will follow in La Grange City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
