Nancy Ann Marie Matula, age 45, of La Grange passed away on July 8, 2008 from injuries sustained in a car accident in western Bastrop County. She enjoyed cooking and housekeeping.
Nancy was born in Fayette Memorial Hospital in La Grange, Texas on July 2, 1963. Nancy attended elementary schools in Eden, Texas and La Grange, Texas. She graduated from La Grange High School in 1981. Nancy also graduated from Texas A & M University in 1985 with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration. She worked in various positions involving sales and marketing over the years. Her most recent job was with the I.R.S. in 2007. She additionally cared for her ailing mother (now deceased) for almost 9 years.
She is survived by her father, Clarence R. Matula of La Grange; two brothers, Darrell Matula of League City, Texas and David Matula and his wife Tory of Cypress, Texas.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn A. (Albrecht) Matula on May 10, 2008.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening with Deacon Mike Meismer officiating. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange. Father Kevin Manion will officiate at the service. Interment will be in the Hostyn Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn, Texas.
Memorials may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
A lunch will be provided after the service at the Fayette County Home Demonstration Building at the La Grange Fairgrounds in La Grange, Texas.
