Mildred Christine Bartley, age 81, of La Grange passed away on May 13, 2008 in an Austin hospital. She was born on April 21, 1927 to parents Charlie Johnson and Rosa Bell (Bugg) Johnson in Beaverdam North Carolina. Mildred Christine Bartley was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchilden and great-great-grandchildren.
Mildred Christine Bartley is survived by her spouse, Vestle “Smitty” Smith of La Grange; two daughters, Sandra Smith and her husband Sammy of La Grange and Christine Weber of Crosby; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Johnson and Rosa Bell (Bugg) Johnson and a daughter Gemetha Ann Patton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pitman Cemetery Association.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pitman Cemetery near Muldoon. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Michael Weber.
