Margaret (Margie) Urban went to be with Jesus on January 31, 2025.
She was born on December 20, 1941 in Fayetteville, Texas to Emil and Claudia Hrachovy. She actually met the love of her life, John Urban, while in the second grade at St John’s Catholic School in Fayetteville. They were married on February 24, 1963 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church near Ellinger.
Margie was a member of the CDA, Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister, and visited nursing homes and shut-ins. She also prepared sandwiches for many years for the Knights of Columbus bingos and always was by her husband’s side at K.C. functions. Margie worked at the Fayette County Record for nearly 20 years. She worked at Fayette Memorial Hospital and St. Mark’s Hospital for a total of 25 years. She then volunteered at Second Chance Emporium for several years until Parkinson's Disease forced her to stay home, Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved gardening, tending to her flowers, loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the most kind-hearted person that always put others first. She was always willing to lend a hand and work behind the scenes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and only sister, Janette Kubicek. She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Mary, and husband, Brian Burton; son, John Joseph Urban; 7 grandchildren - Cody and wife, Amber, Dustin and wife, Christina, and Dalton Burton; Wayne and wife, DeDe, Zoe, Joseph and Joshua Urban and great grandchildren, Grace and Josiah Burton.
A private funeral mass was held on February 3,2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at parkinson.org, Sacred Heart Catholic School, charity of one’s choice or better yet buy some flowers for one of your loved ones today.
