Margie Mae Plant, 84, passed away at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Moulton, Tx on April 1st, 2024. 

Margie was born on July 20, 1939 in Schulenburg in the family home to Marie (Dusek) and Victor Holub. Margie spent her life taking care of her kids and working in the local restaurants. She was employed by Oakridge Smokehouse for many years where she loved to cook and met many friends. When Margie was not working you could find her watching one of her favorite cooking shows or spending time with her family. She made many friends while she lived at Shady Oaks Nursing home where she enjoyed playing dominoes, bingo, listening to polka, and visiting with all the staff members, which many called her “Mama Plant.” Margie had a love for animals and you could always count on her having one by her side. 

Margie is survived by six children Susan Schaefer, Teresa Bueno (Danny), Robert Jr. (Darla), Deborah Moore (Gerald), Glenn Plant (Connie), and David Plant (Nancy). One son in law, Steven Aiken. Margie is survived by 7 siblings. Marie Murphy, Dorothy Brewster, Esther Minton, Linda Lasmanis, Donna Escalante, Liz Martin, and Sonny Holub. She left behind 22 grandkids and numerous great grandkids and friends. Margie left behind her beloved dog, Peanut. 

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Donna Aiken, and brother Leroy Holub. Per Margie's wishes, there will be a private memorial service at a later date. 


Memorials can be sent in care of the funeral home for Gardenia Jenssen Animal Shelter in La Grange or Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Moulton.
