Margaret Jo Del Volcik

Funeral services for Jo Del Volcik are scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 22, 2025 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at La Grange City Cemetery.

Jo Del Volcik, 97 of La Grange, passed away on April 11, 2025 in Columbus, Texas. She was born on December 18, 1927 in Sour Lake, Texas to Thomas Smith and Nellie (Wilkey) Smith. She married Albert Volcik on February 10, 1947 in Richmond and they later had two children, Linda and Lou.

Jo Del was an active member of the New Life Methodist Church in La Grange where she volunteered in several activities including making kid packs, knitting prayer shawls and participated in the Knitting Circle. She also enjoyed volunteering for the AMEN Food Pantry and Second Chance. In her earlier years, she and Albert enjoyed long trips to the Valley during the winter months where they spent time with new friends. Jo Del loved her children and grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Jo Del is survived by her daughters, Linda Koby and husband, Paul of Simonton and Lou Salazar and special friend, Lee Minton of Houston; sister, Ann Corpening of Ft. Worth; grandchildren Michael Koby, Laura Hatfield, David Koby (Jacque), Amber Potter (Brian), and Beau Salazar (Victoria); great grandchildren, Cloe Yarborough, Stefan Hatfield, Parker and Delilah Koby, Landon and Audrey Potter, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; one sister and two great grandchildren, Conner William Koby and Amelia Jo Del Salazar.

The family suggest that memorial donations be made to New Life Methodist Church, Amedysis Hospice or to a charity of one’s choice.
