Lee Hartranft

d. October 22, 2010

Lee Roy Hartranft, loving father, husband, grandfather, and stepfather, passed away early Friday, October 22, 2010. Lee was a resident of La Grange, Texas. He suffered through cancer with courage, grace, and a “git r done” attitude.

Lee was born December 17, 1949, in Birmingham, Alabama. Over the course of his life, he lived in many states across the U.S., eventually landing in La Grange. He worked many diverse jobs, ending with 15 years working for (Baroid) Halliburton, where he began as a truck driver and ended as senior dispatcher. Lee had an infectious sense of humor and made friends easily. He loved the water and enjoyed fishing and going to the coast to relax. He enjoyed good music, was an avid sports fan (he especially liked football and baseball), and had a roll-with-the-punches attitude. Those who knew Lee knew that if he teased you, he liked you.

He is survived by his wife, Janette, five sons: John and wife Debra of San Saba; Lance and wife Angela of Lexington; Greg of Austin; Steven and wife Ashley of Giddings; Chad of La Grange, and four stepchildren, Christopher, William, and Cara Willhoite of La Grange and Laura of Austin. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; John, Reagan, Garrett, Chassity, Landon, Zander, Dillon, Carson, Colby, Blake, and Shelby.

He was preceded in death by his parents William John and Aldea Louise (Shaw) Hartranft.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday October 24, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday October 25, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in La Grange.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Moulton.
