Larry W. Polasek, age 79 of Ellinger, passed away February 27, 2012, at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.
Larry was born on July 18, 1932, in La Grange to Rudolph Polasek and Minnie Roensch Polasek. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. Larry was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger, Carpenters Local Union #213, the Knights of Columbus and the KJT.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, gardening and bowling with the KC’s.
Larry is survived by his wife, Gladys of Ellinger; five daughters; Theresa Morris and husband Barry of Houston, Beverly Weitz and husband Bob of London, Jan Barrett and husband Peter of Richmond, Jean Amador and husband Bobby of Galveston and Stacey May of Alvin; one son, Russel Polasek of Rosharon; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Gaddes of Fort Worth; sisters-in-law, Virginia Polasek of La Grange and Juanita Polasek of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janeen Sue; daughter-in-law, Angie Polasek; 4 brothers, Garland, Leroy, Charlie and Rudy Polasek.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday February 29, 2012, from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Visitation is then scheduled from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM at the church.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday March 1, 2012, at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Ellinger.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger or Hospice Brazos Valley.
