Joshua Roderick Goode

A memorial service for Joshua Goode is scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (300 Hudgins, Smithville, Texas) with a visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Joshua Roderick Goode, 36, passed away at his home in Smithville, Texas on November 2, 2022.  He was born on February 24, 1986 in La Grange, Texas.  He graduated from Smithville High School in 2004 and later worked as an HVAC technician.

Joshua loved spending time with his daughter, Emily Ann Marie and his many friends. He also enjoyed working on cars, fishing and most of all hunting which was his happy place.  He held a special place in his heart for his close cousins, Darren Rice, Lauren Wood and Braden Janecek.  Joshua had an infectious smile and personality, a wonderful sense of humor and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Joshua is survived by his daughter, Emily Goode; parents, Janice and Bobby Lucas of Smithville; grandparents, Alvin and Nancy Janecek of Smithville; stepbrother, Joshua (Nikki) Lucas of Bastrop; stepsister, Elizabeth Lucas of Virginia; special friend, Nicole Callaway; aunt and uncle, Daniel and Carol Rice; uncles Brian and Robert Janecek, along with numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
