Josephine Clara Wily was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 30, 1920, the oldest daughter of Penrose Wily and Bertha (Greene) Wily.
In 1947 she married Kermit Brendle. After Kermit’s death in 1949 she and her daughters moved back to Philadelphia, returning to Rutersville each summer to spend time with Katie and Willie Brendle.
In 1953 she married Warren Wubbenhorst. They made their home in Fayetteville where they ran a dairy and raised their four children.
Josephine enjoyed reading, crocheting, baking, working in her garden and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville where in her younger years she was active in the Ladies Aide.
She is survived by her children, Kathy and (Randy) Mundt of Pleasanton, California, Penny and (Nelson) Holtz of Victoria, Texas, Henry Wubbenhorst of Fayetteville, Texas and Natalie Norsworthy of Fayetteville, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Russell and (Brandi) Barthels of Victoria, Texas, Heather and (Casey) Dungan of Old Hickory, Tennessee, Ashley Mundt of Brentwood, California, Steven Mundt of Rohnert Park, California, Ty Norsworthy of Fayetteville, Texas, Claire Norsworthy of Fayetteville, Texas, Juanita and (Keith) Kelly of Houston, Texas and Julie and (Garlon) Evans of Houston, Texas. One sister, Jean Charlotte Poehlmann of Showlow, Arizona and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kermit Brendle and her second husband, Warren Wubbenhorst and a son-in-law, Billy Norsworthy.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. A prayer service is scheduled on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rutersville with Reverend Glenn Hohlt officiating. Interment will be in the Rutersville Cemetery in Rutersville, Texas.
