John Tucker

A memorial service for John Daniel Tucker ("Dan") 67, of Tuxpan, Veracruz, Mexico, and Round Top, TX will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 2 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, 6814 Skull Creek Rd. Fayetteville, TX, 78940. Dan was born on March 26, 1957 in New Orleans, LA to John Hardwick and Louise Tucker. He passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 in a car accident in Round Top, TX.

He graduated from Humble High School, Houston Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the University of Houston. He retired to Mexico after more than 30 years of ministry and teaching. He stayed busy working part time in Mexico and in Round Top, 

TX.He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Brent Higgins, Jr., and Myah Tucker.

He is survived by his wife of almost 14 years, Valeria Lopez Cruz, His sons: David Benjamin Tucker (Sofia), Derek John Tucker (Audrey), Luis Gerardo Sarmiento (Mariana), and a daughter, Anahi Sarmiento, grandchildren: Max, Mariana, Andrew, Eliana, Elienai, Emily, and Amber, Siblings: Deanna Higgins (Brent), Stephen Tucker (Lindsay), and Shari Allegood (Terry), nieces and nephews: Lauren Dearman (Weston), Whitney Law (Jared), Mary Beth Allegood, Vicky Allegood, Madison Tucker, John Allegood, Nathaniel Allegood, Matthew Tucker, Tucker Law, Piper Law, Cadence Dearman, Brooks Law, Blair Law, Rowen Dearman, Austen Dearman.
