Joe (Joeboy) Poncik, age 69, of La Grange, passed away on Monday July 25, 2011.
Joe was born to Emil and Alma Poncik Sr. on March 18, 1942 in Rabbs Prairie, TX. Joe married Linda Hoffman March 11, 1972 and was married 39 years. They have been blessed with two children. He worked as a dragline operator for La Grange Concrete and Aggregrates for 30 years. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of La Grange and Sons of Herman Lodge of Prairie Valley.
He is survived by wife, Linda Poncik; children, Joseph and wife Shae Ann Poncik of Smithville; Cindy and husband Justin Kelly of La Grange; also two children from a previous marriage, Joely and husband Jared Rodgers of Fayetteville; Jarrod and wife Tonya Poncik of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Tyler, Hailey, and Brodie Kelly; Mackenzie and Logan Poncik; Riley and Braden Rogers; Mitchell and Ezrianna Poncik; Manson and Christina Williams; Clayton and Nathan Anstead; brother, Emil Poncik of Stafford; sister in-laws, Gladys Poncik of La Grange and Doris Poncik of Columbus; brother in-law, Wilbert and Bonnie Hoffman of Spring; sister in-law Donna and Rick Meinecke of Brenham.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Alma Poncik; brothers, John, Charlie and Glenn Poncik.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday July 28, 2011, from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM, at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday July 29, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange.
Interment will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley of La Grange or Msgr. Harry’s Scholarship at Sacred Heart School of La Grange.
