Hermine Schulze, age 88, of Warda, passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2011.
Hermine was born to Theodore and Martha Teinert on April 13, 1923. She spent her childhood at the family homestead with her six brothers and three sisters. Hermine was baptized April 22, 1923 and confirmed April 5, 1936 at Holy Cross Lutheran in Warda.
After moving to Houston, she met Elton Schulze and they were married June 20, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran in Giddings. They celebrated 63 years together. He was the love of her life in his dedication and care for her.
They lived in Houston, attending Ascension and Trinity Lutheran before retiring back to Warda. Hermine was a talented seamstress, cake decorator and baker. She loved the garden and canning the vegetables from it, and hosting family events. Above all, she was most devoted to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her giving and care extended to her community, church and friends. She took care of everyone.
At Holy Cross, Hermine was involved in altar guild, ladies guild, and an honorary life time member of the sewing club.
She is survived by her husband Elton, her daughter Delores Holick, and sons Kenneth and Douglas Schulze, her daughter in law Karen Schulze, and her grandchildren Michelle Holick McGuirt, Spencer and Audrey Schulze. She is also survived by her sister Eleanor Teinert , her brother Norbert Teinert, and three sister in laws, Bernell Teinert, Alice Teinert, and Adeline Nietsche, and two brother in laws, Wilbert Schulze and Erwin Schulze, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Gertrud and twin sister Elsa, and brothers, Edwin, Alfred, Herbert, Bill, and Marvin, son in law Donald Holick, and daughter in law Donna Schulze.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Alzcare and Hope Hospice for their loving care.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday July 21, 2011, from 5:00PM until 7:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors during this time.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday July 22, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Warda.
