Henry Reiss

A VISITATION FOR Henry (Sonny) Reiss, 90 of West Point will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday November 4, 2018 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Monday November 5,2018  at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum, Texas with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Henry was born December 8, 1927 in West Point, Texas to Fred and Annie Reiss. He married the love of his life Eleanora (Blaha) Reiss on February 26, 1949 in Plum, Texas and they happily shared 68 years of marriage. Henry loved hunting, fishing, traveling to different locations and spending time with family. He enjoyed blue bird houses and purple martin houses.

Henry was a member of the Fayette Co. Sheriffs Posse, National Rifle Association, American Legion, Swiss Alps Dance Club, and many other organizations. He helped organize the Fayette County Ground Water District and the Buckner Creek Wildlife Management Association.

He is survived by 1 son Michael Reiss, and his wife Cheryl of La Porte, 1 daughter, Connie Petty, and her husband Warren of West Point.

He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jason Petty, Eric Petty, Lauren Pyle, Courtney Morris, Jayme Reiss, and Steven Reiss, as well as 7 great-grandchildren, Ella Petty, Fox Petty, Zachary Pyle, Caden Morris, Beckham Petty, Zoe Pyle, Addlynn Morris, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Annie Reiss, wife Eleanor Reiss, sister Marie Ivey(husband Ross), and sister Lillian Brothers(husband Clarence).
