Helen Marie Schlotterbeck passed away at her home in La Grange on November 12, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Funeral services for Helen Marie Schlotterbeck are scheduled for 11 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas with interment to follow at the La Grange City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on November 18, 2022 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Helen Schlotterback was born on April 27, 1935 to Louis and Celestine Hentschel. She married Paul L. Schlotterbeck on April 23, 1960 and later had two children.
Helen, often known as “Ms. Helen” worked nearly thirty years at Dairy Queen in La Grange. She was known to always cook plenty of food for her family and often reminded them to eat and eat more. Helen loved her grandchildren dearly. Sloane was her first great granddaughter and the love of her life. Helen always had a smile on her face and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Helen is survived by her children; son Bruce Schlotterbeck and wife Ellen; daughter, Karen Schubert and husband Darrell; step-daughter Debra Weaver and husband Don; sisters Patsy Hess and husband, Jerry and Beatrice Wasut; sister-in-law, Frances Hentschel; grandchildren, Sandy McCann and husband Jason, Darrick Schubert and wife Loren, Katelyn Tousek and husband Stephen, Colton Schubert and wife Carleigh, Dylan Schlotterbeck and wife Michaela; great grandchildren, Sloane Schubert, Sage Schubert, Tinsley Layne arriving in February and Declan McCann.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Schlotterbeck; parents, Louis and Celestine Hentschel; brothers Robert Hentschel and Louis Hentschel, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Wasut and husband Dennies, and Shirley Mikes and husband Alvin; and brother-in-law, Clarence Wasut.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or to a charity of one’s choice.
