Glen Hartmann

Glen Roy Hartmann was born to Lee Roy Ernest Hartmann and Doris Lydia (Mueller) Hartmann on November 19, 1950 in Victoria, Texas. Glen was baptized January 21, 1951 and was confirmed March 28, 1965 at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville. Glen graduated from La Grange High School in 1969. Upon graduation he went to work for the Texas Highway Department. Later, Glen worked as a plumber for Tietjen Plumbing, and most recently worked as an electrician for Reeders and Hartmann Electric.

Glen enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed helping his family with numerous projects. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Second Chance Emporium, the Amen Food Pantry and helping to distribute food from the Central Texas Mobile Food Bank truck at Waldeck, Texas.

Glen passed away on September 5, 2020. He is survived by one brother, Weldon Hartmann (Lee Ann), one nephew Kyle Hartmann of Rutersville, one niece Kayla Hartmann (Allison Lehrmann), and great nephew Elias Lee Hartmann-Lehrmann of The Woodlands, two aunts Marian Frerichs of La Grange and Lorena Mueller of Sealy, special friend Margaret Fox and family: Kerry Fox and her son Larren Montes of Bastrop, James Fox and his children Kaitlyn and Kassidy Fox. Numerous cousins and friends also survive. Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Doris Hartmann and grandparents, Otto and Marie (Etzel) Hartmann and Herman and Wilhelmine (Helmken) Mueller, along with 12 uncles and 9 aunts.


Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2020 with family present from 4-7PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11AM at Rutersville Hermann Sons Life Lodge 152 (5830 State Hwy 159, La Grange, TX 78945). In awareness of COVID-19, the family request a drive- in parking lot worship. Should visitors wish to social distance under the trees, please bring a chair.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Lutherhill Ministries (PO Box 99, La Grange, Texas) or a charity of one’s choice.
