Fred Lee Schaefer, 88, of La Grange, died Thursday December 31, 2015 at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.
Fred was born on May 28, 1927, the son of Emil H. and Elvira Loessin Schaefer.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Virginia Weid Schaefer, nephew Ron Behrens and his wife Shirley Behrens of La Grange, and many neighbors on Frank Road who greatly valued his friendship and recall his gentle spirit and his many personal visits.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emil H. and Elvira Loessin Schaefer and his adored brother, Lloyd Schaefer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday January 4, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors at this time.
Funeral services will be held at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange at 3:00 PM on Tuesday January 5, 2016 and burial will be in the family plot in the Blackjack Cemetery at O’Quinn.
