Franklin Brandt

Franklin Brandt, 84, of La Grange passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. He was born on October 11, 1932 to Arthur H. Brandt, Sr. and Adeline Trefny Brandt in Weimar, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange on October 8, 2017 from 12:00-7:00p.m. The family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00p.m.

Funeral services will be held on October 9, 2017 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow at Brandt Family Cemetery in Holman, Texas.

Franklin was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, member and state president of the F.F.A., member and state president of Texas Young Farmers and member of Fayette County Farm Bureau. He was the co-owner of Mid-State Steel Manufacturing and Brandt Bros. Equipment Co. He was the track Manager for several Tractor Puller Associations which was one of the most enjoyable times of his life. Most importantly, he enjoyed time spent with his family. Franklin married Elaine Spacek on Oct. 9, 1952 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange.

He is survived by wife Elaine Brandt; brothers Hubert Brandt Ervin Brandt, Arthur Brandt Jr., Donald Brandt; sister Arline Watson; son Martin Brandt and wife Barbara: son Roger Brandt and wife Janice; Grandchildren J.K. Brandt and wife Karie, Randy Brandt and wife Erica, Alex Brandt and wife Samantha; Great Grandchildren Jacob and Brendan Brandt and Dane and Preston Brandt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange or the charity of one’s choice.
