Florence Nadine Patton was born on April 11th, 1929, in DeQueen, Arkansas, the seventh child of Robert Patton and Blanche Van Horn Patton. She was the daughter of migrant workers who traveled between Florida and Michigan following the fruit and vegetable harvest. In the late 1930's, the family settled in southern California. Nadine married Vernon Lofton Williams in 1946. They lived in the San Bernardino/Redlands area of southern California, where they had their first two children. Between Christmas and New Years of 1949/50, Vernon and Nadine moved to Callahan County, Texas, with their two small children where they dry land farmed. In 1955 with two more children, they relocated to La Grange, Texas, where they went into the dairy business. In 1957, Vernon and Nadine purchased a 125-acre dairy farm south of La Grange. God greatly blessed the farm for the rearing of their four children. They sold out the dairy in early 1973 and continued to live on the farm raising beef cattle and hay. Vernon and Nadine traveled extensively in an RV across the southern and central United States during their years of semi-retirement. Nadine enjoyed art, producing many very nice paintings over the years. Vernon preceded Nadine in death in 2016. Nadine was active in church work all of her life as a member of the Denton Valley Baptist Church, the Cross Cut Baptist Church, the First Baptist Church of La Grange, the Second Baptist Church of La Grange, and the First Baptist Church of San Antonio. She went home to be with her Lord on November 1, 2024, at the age of 95.
