Evelyn Tietjen

Funeral services for Evelyn Tietjen, 100, of La Grange will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 1 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rutersville, with Pastor Marcia Kifer officiating, under the care and direction of Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Rutersville Cemetery in Rutersville, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in La Grange.

Evelyn was born March 16, 1919 in La Grange, Texas to Elsa Voelkel Fritsch and Fritz Fritsch. She married Kurt Tietjen on March 16, 1943. She was employed as a cashier at Ben Franklin’s, a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a member of Hermann Sons.

Evelyn is survived by 1 daughter, Helen Fleck and her husband Jerry of Smithville, 1 son Larry Tietjen and his wife, Leah of La Grange, 4 grandchildren, Tammy Campion, and her husband Darrell, Rebekah Watson, and her husband Jason, Chad Tietjen, and Holli Hale and her husband, Tuffy. 6 Great Grandchildren, Bradley Campion, Katie Swartz, and her husband Jaysen, Barrett Watson, Baylor Watson, Emily Tietjen, and Jordan Parks. 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Caysen and Connor Swartz,

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kurt Tietjen and 1 brother Fredde Lee Fritsch.
