Elmont Vyvial age 81 of La Grange passed away on January 21, 2015 in Austin.
He was born on May 31, 1933 in Ganado to Frank Joseph Vyvial and Annie Fojt. He married Georgia Polasek Pelech on August 6, 1988 in Manvel. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, lifetime member of VFW 5254, Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, Fayette County Czech Heritage Society, PLCTM, P.O.L.K. of A of Texas, SPJST Lodge 172, and an associate member of the KJT. He worked 40 years at AMOCO Refinery. He was also a member of the Galveston Czech Heritage Singers, SPJST Lodge 88 Choral Group, Fayette County Czech Singers and the church choir.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; one daughter, Leslie Vyvial of Mesa Arizona; three step-daughters, Carolyn Surface and husband Lee of La Grange, Janet Clark and husband Matt of Sugarland and Susan Tangedahl and husband Kenneth of Rosharon; two step-sons, Joseph Pelech and wife Nora of Conroe and Frank Pelech of Pearland; two brothers, Allen Vyvial and wife Lorraine of Santa Fe and Elgin Vyvial and wife Joyce of La Marque; one sister, Elizabeth Lang of Weslaco; one brother-in-law, Johnnie Polasek and wife Lorenda of La Grange; six grandchildren, Krista and Clint Surface, Michael Clark and wife Carri, Katie Clark, George and Marina Mauricio and Sean Wilkins and wife Toni; two great-grandchildren also survive, along with numerous nieces and nephews to whom he was very close.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Roman, Adolph, Edward, William, George and Ben and five sisters; Agatha, Hilda, Willa Mae and Emilee.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday January 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors at this time. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday January 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn.
Interment will follow Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn.
