Edna Ebner

Funeral services for Edna Louise (Schulze) Ebner are scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange with interment to follow at La Grange City Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Monday, September 13, 2021 from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.

Edna was born in Floresville, Texas on January 21, 1925 to Leonila Rosa (Klasek) and Charles Henry Schulze.  She was baptized April 21, 1925, and confirmed September 6, 1942 at Friedens Lutheran Church in Three Oaks, Texas. She married Ernest Ebner of La Grange on November 26, 1946. Edna passed away on September 9, 2021 at the age of 96.

Edna was an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and participated in the Ladies’ Aid program and was also a member of the American Legion.  Edna enjoyed playing bingo, yardwork, and growing her beautiful fruit trees consisting of delicious oranges, peaches and pears.  She babysat and took up an at-home ironing business that kept her pretty busy. Edna also loved to travel and traveled throughout the United States.  Edna especially loved her pets, including her two dogs, Cookie and Buddy.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Ebner; her twin sister, Estella Lueders; and two brothers, John and Herman Schulze.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Dausel; four nieces, Cindy Castello, Connie Jakobeit, Melody Ramirez (Eddie) and Jennifer Schulze Crier (Will); four nephews, Clinton Lueders, Kenneth Dausel (Susan), Larry Schulze, Charles Schulze (Erin); special friends, Tommy and Betty Lueders, Cheryl (Roitsch) and Mick Barosh; along with numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Janssen Gardenia Animal Shelter (240 Svboda Lane, La Grange, Texas 78945), Hospice Brazos Valley (1048 N. Jefferson, La Grange, Texas 78945), or to a charity of one’s choice.
