Dovie Ruth Parker

Dovie Ruth Parker passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2024 of natural causes at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center.  Dovie was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma on November 20th, 1933 where she was raised alongside her five brothers. She is preceded in death by parents Hurston and Pauline Huckabaa, brothers Harold and Junior Huckabaa, and her husband, Jess Parker. She and Jess settled in Scroggins, outside Winnsboro, Texas where Dovie spent several great years working at Winnsboro Presbyterian Hospital. 

Dovie was one of a kind - she made many friends along the way and loved conversation and telling jokes. She enjoyed gardening throughout her life and was the ultimate do-it-yourself-er. She could fix anything.

Dovie is survived by brothers Pete, Hollis, and Loyd Huckabaa, daughters Woodra “Bubbles” Parker and Susie Grider, granddaughter Sarah Kate Haseloff and husband Dwayne Haseloff, and grandson Jesse Jenkins and wife Ashley Thomas. 

As per Dovie’s request, no funeral service will be held.
