Dorothy Jean Zimmermann was born on July 18, 1931 in Glendale, Arizona to Francis L. Hoover and Linnie Mae Darby Hoover. She grew up in the Glendale and Phoenix Arizona area. She attended Glendale High School.
She married Werner Zimmermann on April 5, 1969. That union merged their two families consisting of six children, fifteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Dorothy and Werner were longtime partners in business, as well as partners in marriage. They founded and ran Princess Craft Manufacturing in Pflugerville, Texas, selling the business in 1994.
After selling their business, they moved to Werner’s boyhood home of La Grange, Texas and lived on the family property there, until her death on August 7, 2009.
Dorothy was an exuberant, fun-loving, intelligent, inquisitive, happy woman. She loved life, and invested her enthusiasm into all who knew her. Dorothy is a member of the United Evangelical Church in Swiss Alp, Texas. She will be sorely missed.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday August 8, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday August 9, 2009 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Private family committal will be held Monday August 10, 2009 at Capital Memorial Park, in Austin, Texas.
