Dorothy Wojan

June 27, 1935 — August 31, 2024

Dorothy L. Wojan, 89, of Charlevoix, MI, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the

home of her daughter Ann (Stuart) Miller, in Elgin, TX. She was born June 27, 1935, in Mt.

Airy, Maryland, the daughter of Vernon Columbus and Lydia Ann (Beall) Hines. She married

Arthur A. Wojan on August 29, 1953, in Fredrick, MD, and later moved to Charlevoix.

Dorothy (Dot/Dottie) retired from Hoskins Manufacturing of Charlevoix, a wire and cabling

company headquartered in Hamburg Township, MI. After retiring, she also worked part-

time with Glens Market.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family and friends; she was an avid reader and had a

special place in her heart filled with love for her cats, Snowball, Sassy, and Charlie Brown.

She enjoyed their company as she did with the numerous birds and other wildlife that

adorned her home's front and back yards.

Dorothy is survived by her children Vickie Lynn (Larry) Redd of Dallas, TX, Walter Vernon

(Sally) Wojan of Charlevoix, Holly Marie (Larry) Capps of Duncanville, TX, Ann Marie (Stuart)

Miller of Elgin, TX, Thomas Allan (Stacey) Wojan of Katy, TX; six grandchildren; three great-

grandchildren; sisters Mable McDonald of Silver Springs, FL, Pauline Davis of Jacksonville,

NC; brothers George J. Hines of Union Bridge, MD and Thomas E. Hines of Woodsboro, MD;

Sister-in-laws Connie (Mitch) Cunningham of Charlevoix, Janet (Leon) Jarema of Boyne

City, Brother-in-law Kenneth (Carol) Wojan & and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur (Art), whom she was married to for

58 years; her parents, Vernon and Lidya Hines; her siblings, Evelyn Hines, Leroy Hines,

Hazel Hines, Annabelle Kline, Mary Richardson, Vernon Hines Jr., and Kenneth Hines Sr.
