Delta Marie Spacek, age 99, of La Grange died October 25, 2008 at St. Mark’s Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1909 in La Grange, the daughter of Johannes (Hans) Wieting and Louise (Wildner) Wieting. She married August H. Spacek on May 18, 1931 in La Grange.
In her lifetime, she worked as a clerk and as church secretary at St. Paul where she was a member. She also, belonged to the St. Paul WELCA.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Brandt and husband Franklin of La Grange and Maridel Dungen Anderson and husband Bob of New Ulm; grandchildren, Roger Brandt and wife Janice and Martin Brandt and wife Barbara, all of La Grange, Jeffrey Dungen and wife Debbie of Alvin and Mike Dungen of Columbus; great-grandchildren, J.K. Brandt and wife Karie of La Grange, Randall Brandt of San Antonio, Alex Brandt of College Station, Austyn, Sydney and J.T. Dungen, all of Alvin; great-great-grandchild, Jacob Brandt of La Grange; and sister-in-law, Cornelia Spacek of La Grange.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Leonita and son-in-law Raymond Dungen.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening. The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange. Pastor Sid Roden will officiate at the service. Interment will be in the Cedar Cemetery near Hostyn.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the Cedar Cemetery Association.
