A Memorial Service for DeLayne Allen is going to be scheduled at a later date and burial will be at the Winchester City Cemetery in Winchester, Texas. 

DeLayne Allen, 69 of Weimar, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2024. She was born in La Grange, Texas on December 22, 1954 to Frank Guenter and Vivian (Froehlich) Taylor. She graduated from Katy High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin Stout in 2008. She worked many years in the food service industry in her local area.

DeLayne enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing, but most of all Delayne loved spending time with family and friends. In 2009, she moved back to Texas from Wisconsin to help care for her elderly parents, but continued to work in the food service industry. She was active in the Glidden Baptist Church in Glidden, Texas and loved her church family attending bible study on Wednesdays and Sunday school and church on Sunday’s. DeLayne will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

DeLayne is survived by her sons Daniel Caleb Allen and wife Brandi, and Dee "Taylor" H. Allen and wife Sarah; brother, Stuart Taylor and wife, Nancy; sister, Bronwyn Griffith and husband, Mark; grandchildren Kennedy Allen, Aubrey Allen, Christian Allen, Raegan  Allen, and Isaac Allen; along with numerous nieces and nephews, friends and her pet cat, Boots.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter (240 Svoboda Lane, La Grange, Texas 78945) or The Texas Wendish Society (www.texaswendish.org).
