Darlene Ruth (Urban) Bramblett passed away 11/17/17 after a nine month battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor. She lived 71 beautiful and fulfilling years. She was born on 5/27/1946 in Dime Box, Texas. She lived almost her entire life in Nechanitz and LaGrange, Texas. Darlene graduated from Round Top-Carmine High School in 1964. She spent 32 years as the church secretary at the First Presbyterian Church. She volunteered countless hours at Second Chance Emporium. She spent 12 years as alter guild chairman and years as the secretary treasurer of TOWMA. Her passion was to travel and took many cruises and land excursions throughout the world. She is preceeded in death by Grandparents, Hugo and Alma Urban of Giddings, and Henry and Anna Nimitz-Marburger of Dime Box, her Fathers, Ermo Urban of Giddings, TX and Marvin Matejowsky of Nechanitz, and her Mother, Esther Magdalena Urban-Matejowsky of Nechanitz, TX. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 53 years, James (Jim) Bramblett of LaGrange, her Son and Daughter in law, Jamie and Lori Bramblett of San Antonio, her beloved and only grandchild, Jordan Bramblett of College Station, Her Brother James (Jimmy) Urban of Nechanitz, Her Sister Rebecca Halder of LaGrange, her youngest Sister Laurie Galland of Kingwood, and Jack, the true caretaker of the house. She has many nieces and nephews and at least 5,000 dear friends around the LaGrange area. Some of these friends need to be recognized. They are the ones who spent countless hours just sitting, talking, and holding her hand, doing manicures while she was in bed, bringing cookies, cakes, cobblers, and casseroles, and a loan of a potty chair that was invaluable. Andrea Polasek, Pam Hurst, and Judy Otto were here her sisters by a different Mother. Special thanks to Annazel Von Minden, JoLene Hughes, Carolyn Buchanek, Belinda Richter, Carolyn Bennetsen, Brenda Benes, Ann Clements, her classmates from the RTC class of 1964, and everyone who included Darlene in their prayers. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, from 6 till 8 pm at St. Paul Lutheran church of LaGrange and a service will be held on Friday December 1st at 2pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in LaGrange. She was a loving, caring, and giving woman with a great sense of humor and will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to Brazos Valley Hospice.
