Daniel LaVerne Nitschke, 74, was born in Fayette County, Texas on August 15, 1934 as the only child of Gilbert and Georgia Janda Nitschke. Daniel, known as "Danny" to friends and family, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 30, 2009.
Danny served as a member of the United States Army Reserve and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Georgia. He is survived by his two sons Daniel Bruce and wife, Becky, of Terrell, Texas and Randell Lee and wife Libby, of Columbus, Texas. Danny is also survived by his grandchildren, Cody, Carrie, Colt, Carson, Keslee, and Kylee, Nitschke, as well as six great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St Michael's Hospice for it's care and support through his illness.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Danny's memory to St.Michael's Hospice of Dallas or the American Cancer Society.
