Cynthia Kay Bartek
Cynthia Kay ( Bergmann ) Bartek was born May 17, 1956 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas to Delfine F. and Sadie G. ( Georges ) Bergmann. Cindy was baptized July 1956 at Zion Lutheran Church in the Heights and confirmed May 1972 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. Cindy passed away November 18, 2016 at the Heart Hospital of Austin at the age of 60 years, 6 months and one day.
Cindy attended school at Houseman Elementary School and graduated from Spring Branch High School, Class 0f 1974. Cindy started her work career as a sales clerk at Foley’s Northwest in Houston and In her off time helped her father with their family owned auto repair shop acquiring parts and doing bookkeeping She also cared for her niece Dara Michelle during those times. Cindy moved to Fayette County in the late 70’s married and went to work for the Gibson’s department store as a clerk, which was later acquired by the Wynn Corp., until her eye impairment did not allow her to work. Cindy married Edwin Bartek, Jr. on December 14th , 1991 enjoying the remaining years as a homemaker taking care of the children and later the grand children. Cindy loved to go shopping, plan and decorate for events and holidays, do crafts, flower arrangements and cake decorating. She enjoyed working with her outside flower gardens.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Edwin Bartek, Jr. and four children, Johnathan Noak and wife Tameka of Suffolk,VA., Dara Michelle Bergmann-Richardson, and her husband, George, Michelle Noak of La Grange and Jessica Pantalion of Round Top, TX., grandchildren Faithlin Culberson, Cheyanne Pantalion, Brooklynn and Aaliyah Noak, and Brayden Noak. One brother Duane C. Bergmann and his wife Delores of Waller, TX .Also, Several Nieces and Nephews and other extended family to rejoice her memory.
She is preceded in death by Her parents. D.F and Sadie Bergmann, her grandparents Otto and Freda Bergmann of Round Top, TX and Morris and Lara Georges of Brenham, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Florida Chapel Cemetery Near Round Top. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 Monday, November 21 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
