Charles Louis Plumlee, 69, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 22nd, 2016. He was a native to La Grange, Texas, born there January 12th, 1947. A talented athlete, Charles graduated from La Grange High School in 1965. Following high school he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Management from Southwest Texas State College (Texas State University). He followed with a variety of careers including Associate Engineer/Underground Electrical Design at Pedernales Electric Co-op, Shear Operator/Shipping & Receiving at Carlton Industries, Juvenile Corrections Officer at Giddings State Home and Security Guard at the Salvation Army Harbor Light Center.
Charles was the proud father of two daughters, Kim Hibbs and Lisa Hays. He delighted in his grandchildren Kade and Reagan Hibbs and Cadie and Hudson Hays. It was always his dream to move to Austin and watch his grandchildren grow. His heart was full when time was spent with them.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Kim and Lisa (Cody), and grandchildren Kade, Reagan, Cadie and Hudson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Plumlee, and grandson Luke Hays.
A remembrance service will be held at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, July 29th at 10AM: 967 E. Colorado, La Grange, TX 78945. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made in his name to the Salvation Army Area Command, 1500 Austin Street, Houston, TX 77002. The family would like to extend much thankfulness and gratitude to Mr. Larry Bowen and Mr. Robert Lavergne of the Salvation Army Harbor Light Center for their friendship and dedication to Charles in helping him find a renewed faith in self and an everlasting relationship with the Lord.
