Brittany Raye Ridley Obituary
In the early morning hours of December 11, 2015, Brittany Raye Ridley passed from this life into the arms of Jesus at her home in Round Top, Texas, surrounded by her family. Brittany was 30 years old.
Brittany graced this world with her sweet presence on October 31, 1985. She was born in Houston, Texas to Ron and Dixie Ridley.
Brittany bravely endured and overcame many trials and physical obstacles throughout her life. Despite these hindrances, Brittany never gave up on the ability to love and to be loved and to enjoy the life God had given her. Even in her final moments she squeezed her mom’s hand as a final expression of the love they shared. The devotion that Brittany shared with her mother is a precious example of the unconditional love that Jesus so freely offers to us.
Brittany thoroughly enjoyed her four-legged furry friends. Her pet Garfield the cat, along with her dogs Molly, Pepper, and Mono, filled her life with many cuddles and constant attention. Brittany loved animals in general, and found much delight in feeding her family’s miniature donkeys, petting the calves and goats at Jersey Barnyard, and getting up close and personal with the dolphins at Sea World.
One of Brittany’s favorite pastimes was her love for words. She had numerous dictionaries and for many years would wake up and start an A to Z list each day on a sheet of paper. She would then find a different word to match each letter for that day and write it down. Brittany also enjoyed working daily in her numerous workbooks. Her diligence to plan her work and then work her plan would greatly impress any teacher.
While Brittany was still in grade school, she and her mom Dixie moved to Round Top to be close to family. In 2006 she graduated and received her diploma from Round Top-Carmine High School. It was during these school years that Lary Rosenbaum would come into their lives, and ultimately take Dixie as his bride. Brittany loved her step-daddy Lary and was blessed immeasurably by his love and care over the years.
Brittany was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dave Nagel, Irvin Rosenbaum, and Don and Betty Ridley. Brittany is survived by her mother and step-father, Dixie and Lary Rosenbaum, her father and step-mother, Ron and Betty Ridley, her step-siblings, Alex Ridley, Chris Nelson, and Katie Nelson, her grandmothers Carol Nagel and Virgine Rosenbaum, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family is very grateful for the pall-bearers who will be attending Brittany’s funeral. These gracious men are Corky Holt, Roger Maas, David Nagel, Seth Nagel, Michael O’Dell, Trey Pitts, and Ronnie Zwernemann.
Brittany absolutely loved celebrations like her birthday, Christmas, and Easter! It is in this spirit that the family would like to extend sincere thanks to all of those people who have cared for Brittany and loved her over the years. Your loving care did not go without notice, and your devotion to her was a gift of immense worth to the family.
