Barbara Stuart Bettler Hall died on July 9, 2013 at St. Mark's Medical Center in La Grange, TX. She was born on October 8, 1920 in Burlington, Iowa and lived in Wapello, Iowa until her family moved to Oklahoma City in 1929. She graduated from Classen High School in 1938 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1942 with a degree in Fine Art. She moved to Houston, TX and in 1944 she married Burress Daniel Hall, Jr. She raised her family in Bellaire, TX. She also lived in Ribera, New Mexico for a few years and moved to the La Grange area with her daughters in 2006.
She was initiated into the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter V, Oklahoma City, OK in 1942 and was a founding member of Chapter DB, Houston, TX. In 2002 she transferred to Chapter H, Las Vegas, NM. She was employed as a civil draftsman for many years and retired from Texas Brine Corporation.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Philippa Louise Hall. She is survived by daughters Barbara Stuart Hall and Margery Hall Marshall, sons B. Dan Hall, III & wife Janet and Bruce David Hall & wife Lisa, and nephews David T. Bettler & wife Gabi and Michael D. Bettler & wife Lucia.
The service for The Burial of the Dead will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1015 Holman at Main, Houston, TX at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Internment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale. In lieu of flowers and if you desire, tax deductible donations in Barbara’s name can be made to P.E.O. PROGRAM for CONTINUING EDUCATION and sent to P.E.O. Executive Office, 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312-2899.
