Anita Laura Bell, 92, of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed away on April 21, 2017 in Ashdown. Anita was born in Warda, TX to Paul & Christiane Lehmann on May 7, 1924. She went to grade school in Warda and later earned a business certificate from a business school in Houston, TX. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper and a florist in the Houston area. She was a Christian and a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pasadena, TX. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family.
Anita was preceded in death by Franklin Bell, her husband of 37 years, her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne (David) Bond of Ashdown, AR, and Nelda (James) Brown of Overland Park, KS, four grandsons, Dr. David (Renee) Bond of Bryant, AR, Darrin (Robin) Bond of Ashdown, AR, Matthew (Karra) Neely of Belton, MO and Christopher Neely of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are under the direction of Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, TX. Visitation for Anita will be April 26, 2017 from 6-8pm and funeral services will be Thursday, April 27 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in La Grange City Cemetery.
